Consolidation in the Veterinary Services Sector: Examining Transaction Options

Skip to the end of the Expertise Menu

Recorded October 29, 2019

Since the late 80’s, the veterinary services sector has seen a steady wave of private-equity-led investment activity, which has contributed to consolidation within the industry. In the last twelve months, there were 16 publicly announced transactions and, while there continues to be robust transaction activity, the sector remains highly fragmented with white-space opportunity for existing practices to expand. Many regional and national practices have noted the favorable sell-side conditions created by wide-spread interest in the veterinary services space and have partnered with capital providers to accelerate growth by becoming more competitive for acquisition opportunities. As private equity-backed groups compete for market share, veterinary service practices have several options to evaluate, each with varying transaction structures and growth strategies.

This webinar focuses on providing veterinary practice owners and operators with an update on current business and legal trends and transaction activity within the animal health market, as well as strategies to evaluate partnership structures, benefits, and risks associated with pursuing a transaction.

The webinar includes insight from two investment banking advisors and two healthcare M&A attorneys who have all been active in guiding practices through merger and acquisition transaction processes and related financing considerations.
